Hello ICC Family!
Last Sunday evening, we convened for our ICC congregational meeting. It was heartening to see many members present! The meeting was scheduled separately from our usual Sunday morning worship to provide a genuine chance for attendees to inquire, share their views on the budget and by-law changes up for vote, and raise any concerns they believed pertinent to the church at large. Although there were few questions or remarks that evening, a notable one had to do with what it means for us to be a non-denominational church. The short answer to that is that we believe our church to be made up of men and women that are blessed with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, voluntarily committing together as the body of Christ, with the focus of fulfilling the great commandments as we carry out the Great Commission. We believe that our fullest potential is reached as an entirely self-governing church, unbound to grow, invest, and collaborate as the Lord directs, independent of external influence or governance. If hearing more about the origins or the advantages and drawbacks of denominations is interesting… come tonight at 6:15 for our discipleship time because we will be wrapping up a discussion of just that!
The 2025 budget and the procedural by-law amendments were both approved with unanimous consent. Should you have any questions regarding these matters, please feel free to contact me. Just because the meeting is completed, it does not mean that you might not have other questions or thoughts.
A few other practical matters for the week ahead:
Note that there will be NO Wednesday activities next week, Nov 27th.
Make sure you pick up your Advent devotional in the church lobby. See below for details.
This coming Sunday will be our last Sunday discipleship time until next year. It’s been a great series, so please come and join us at 9:30 AM.
After the service on Sunday plan to stick around for our annual Thanksgiving meal. Be sure to invite your friends and family to join us for the service and our meal and fellowship time afterwards. Regular attenders, please bring a dessert if you are able.
See upcoming events below for our Christmas activities. It is going to be a great season celebrating the coming and birth of our Savior!
Blessings to you all. And know that I am praying for you!
